12's Ending

i wonder when it will ever be possible to catch up with old friends. it's been increasingly hard these days, even with facebook. our walls and inboxes have probably seen all the dates of the year being proposed to meet yet, the meeting eludes us all. and for those friends who probably saved "hey hurry lets meet up before i fly off, else i'll just catch up with you during summer!" as an sms template, "summer" actually means "whenever".

it's not just them actually, those in sg are equally if not harder to get hold of! *ahem* ;)

alright, so with remnants of the year left, i managed to spend some good time catching up with a couple of friends. some planned meetings failed but hey, i tried! and of course there are those perpetually postponed meetings which have yet to materialise.

anyhow for the first time i think i made good of whatever time i had left, a very good mix of socialising and self-indulgence.

baby D is 1.5 months old and her baby shower will be held this coming january. apart from that january also marks the beginning of 15 intensive weeks of madness - commencing 5th Jan!

let the countdown begin.

One Down, Many More To Go?

Manchester United Soccer Schools, Singapore
Inaugural Course, December 2008*

sleep was more luxurious than Hermes for the first two weeks of december. with eyes open or closed, my work inbox was all i saw. and as the event drew near, my $48 nokia contractor phone rang annoyingly from 9am onwards daily. i didn't even have much opportunity to re-live my snake gaming days.

anyhow, the worst happened on the first day but we enjoyed a rainless 5 day period thereafter (except for day 3 evening). how miraculous was that?

730am teh tarik, hot & fresh epok-epok from mukmin, ensuring donovan joined his group when he arrives late, football against 10yr olds, sunburn, storeroom woes, ridiculing 'ronaldo', football talk with football crazy parents and the $19 naan set at night safari sums up my muss experience. in short it was pretty kick ass thanks to the people around me.

i recall informing one of my superiors how i wanted to cease any form of involvement after this inaugural course but - it's quite a challenge to let go so much you have built along the way just like that, no?

*DISCLAIMER: THE ABOVE ACTIVITY/INVOLVEMENT DOES NOT IN ANY WAY SUGGEST/IMPLY MY FOOTBALL CLUB AFFILIATION/SUPPORT TO MUFC.
