Battling the Blues

contrary to conventional feeling - i believe tuesdays are the worst days of the week. mainly because, monday was only yesterday and you have majority of the week to survive before you can smell the weekend. monday's on the other hand aren't as bad cos sunday's still fresh in your memory and there's desperate housewives to look forward to at night! sadly, that will last only a few more weeks =(

anyways, i'm letting these kitchen/random room blues kill some tuesday blues...

tiffany touch
♥: wall arrangement, deep mahogany browns against robin egg blue, picture under table
♥: white bamboo chairs, bright cabinets

going mod
♥: purple hydrangeas, cabinet blue, subtle use of subway tiles to skirt the countertops ;)

♥: the tiles!!!, turquoise kettle, tile accents on sink cabinet

baby blues
♥: teal walls, pink florals on blue chinese desk, odd chandelier
♥: skirting/wall profiling, aren't those the coolest yellow seats everr?! black lacquered chests

okay done - i'm happy! did you know the great american songbook vol III has been on replay since the weekend?! i think its the best vol out of the four available!

Weekend Summary

to catch up on lost hours over the week, i insisted on getting up from bed at 11ish on saturday. while the parents visited a food fair (disappointing i heard), i spent my 1 hr of saturday morning eating marks&sparks chocolate digestives and reading through Today Weekend - damn those bombers.

decided to pick up the camera and shoot the latest invites we made but cam battery died on me even before i could inspire myself with any good angles.

so anyways, while heading westside in the evening i realised queenway station doesn't exist - only queenstown. its been 5 years since those b to bv daily train rides took place! so before heading to portsdown, we thought we'd go spruce instead (it's at tanglin rd morticia - were we even close? ahhah!) since i was craving for something more than dessert. unable to locate spruce we made our way to choupinette eventually. more like finally ;)

my adventure to the west concluded with dinner at btp. towards the end i craved for familiarity and made my way to good ol' town for some book browsing! this was when i reunited with loeb classical library classics! its still on the shelves and i still do not own any!!!

someday perhaps - okay i'm going to be sleeping in the toilet tmr if i don't sleep now. its cycle no.8 out of 11 at ze bank. yuck.

a perfect weekend home

If Only...

why is our sunny island severely lacking beautiful venues to hold weddings/events? or worst still, the very few colonial buildings boasting classical architecture are often given a modern (and mostly ugly) facelift destroying the grand old world charm these buildings once offered.

this is probably not relevant to us but if you have the moolahs to hold your wedding in philadelphia, you may wanna check out the Elkins Estate.

we can only dream such places exist in singapore =(.

Wedding at ACM

wedding palette; red taffeta, gold, colored glass, russet florals

bridal and bridesmaid bouquets; calla lilies and russet/greenish hydrangeas

reception table florals

aisle leading up to event hall were filled with green palms and moorish lanterns; the door had issues for a moment and as you can see some were determined to fix it

overview: excuse the ACM official on your right! the dais and event hall, phoenix palms were scattered among guest tables

the buffet area was located at the terrace facing boat quay. cocktail tables were dressed in blue with orange/yellow roses while the central dessert area was decorated by a large floral arrangement

guest table centrepieces; some contained more pinkish hues while others had a touch of dark lavender

the niches were filled with moorish ornaments and fresh florals

bridal table setting that seated 6 on a round table. floral centrepiece was larger and included flowers with more varied textures and colors. the french blue tableware contrasted nicely with the velvet red table covers. fresh ivy leaves entwined the chairbacks...

preparing for solemnization: as requested by the bridal couple, chairs were arranged facing the dais for the solemnization ceremony

the dais is slightly similar to our previous moorish themed wedding except that this version sits under a red tent topped with a floral arrangement (if you can spot it!) against a beautiful gold screen. the previous one (this should be somewhere on our facebook page) was set against a gold door without the tentage
