Wedding Weekend

the weather was not exactly all kind today but at least it didn't rain! i almost died (as usual) in my heels - but that occurred while walking to Harmony Hub, the venue of Norfasarie & Baihakki's wedding event. thumbs down to faraway carparks!

anyhow, i really enjoyed Noriko's wedding as it was somewhat a cultural melting pot. Malays, Japanese and Americans were present for the 'Singapore Leg' of her wedding event marathon! her solemnization ceremony was held last year in Tokyo. today was the persandingan and next year a wedding dinner will be held in Portland, Oregon. 3 wedding celebrations from 2007 to 2009!

my favourite part of a malay wedding! it's really funny & cheesy when a member of the bride's family request the groom and his entourage to offer some gift before he is allowed to see the bride. it's usually some money that's handed over - the bride's representative rejected USD in favour of Japanese Yen, which of course the groom had in hand!

anyhow i was waiting for the crowd to clear to snap a picture of the couple. but i got distracted with something else and you couldn't blame me. there was this faulty fan about a few metres away from our table. it started ripping through the tentage lining at first and then its blades, yes FAN BLADES started falling off in a Final Destination kind of way!!! thank God the two that spun off the fan first failed to hit anyone! the final blade was then caught by some lining and by then i was just too horrified to take pictures and finish off my chocolate dipped marshmellows.

what an eventful ending to my Saturday. tomorrow is wedding prep work day. it's 7 days to our next project - insyallah that turns out just fine ;)
